The WIFF Prize in Canadian Film is the festival’s first annual award recognizing excellence in Canadian cinema.

Using rigorous selection criteria, the WIFF programming team selected 10 nominee films for the award. All 10 will be screened during WIFF and reviewed by a panel of esteemed judges. The winner will be announced at the WIFF Closing Night event and receive a $10,000 prize.

Nominees were announced at a special WIFF reception at TIFF.

  • Isabelle Corriveau, Journalist, Radio-Canada
  • Joshua Riehl, Writer-Director, The Russian Five
