Vincent Georgie: This is arguably one of the very best concert films of all time. Directed by the late, great Jonathan Demme.  

Synopsis: Filmmaker Jonathan Demme captures the frantic energy and artsy groove of Talking Heads as they perform hits such as ‘Psycho Killer’ and ‘Take Me to the River’ at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre in 1983.

Vincent Georgie: One of our very best actors, take a look at two outstanding lead performances by Fishburne. The first film is a moody hidden gem, while the second film earned Fishburne a Best Actor Oscar nomination.

David Jason (Jeff Goldblum) is the biggest drug dealer in Los Angeles, and Russell Stevens (Laurence Fishburne) is an undercover cop who wants to bring him down. Posing as a dealer, Stevens begins to earn the trust of the L.A. drug underworld, eventually making his way to Jason himself. But along the way he has to take his cover to depths he never thought he would have to see, including selling drugs and going to great lengths to eliminate potential competitors for Jason’s drug cartel.

Based on the life of the legendary soul singer, Tina Turner (Angela Bassett) — born Anna Mae Bullock — discovers her love of singing in her Tennessee church choir. She moves to St. Louis to pursue a career, and there she meets the charismatic Ike Turner (Laurence Fishburne), who rechristens her Tina and offers to help her succeed. As a musical team, Ike and Tina take the charts by storm. But as his physical abuse worsens, Tina has to make the tough decision to leave Ike and set out on her own.
