The next edition of the Windsor International Film Festival is coming soon — and it promises to be bigger and bolder than ever.
Now expanded to 10 days (Nov. 1 to 10), WIFF 2019 will bring 165 feature films and documentaries from around the world to downtown Windsor, to be shown at a total of 277 screenings.
Vincent Georgie, the festival’s executive director, said ticket sales this year are projected to reach 40,000 — WIFF’s highest sales figure ever.
“This little film festival that we built in Windsor is not so little anymore,” Georgie said at an announcement in the Chrysler Theatre on Thursday. “We are incredibly proud of that.”
It’s the 15th anniversary of the annual volunteer-run and community-sponsored cinephile event.
