Last weekend, WIFF set up a 25′ LED screen on the lawn of Windsor City Hall and hosted a series of free community programming for the community. Over the weekend 20 feature films were shown and the WIFF Under the Stars event welcomed over 800 community members.
We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who joined us over the weekend! It was great to see some familiar faces and some new ones!
We would also like to thank our sponsors, without which this event would not be possible.
Thank you to the government of Canada for supporting us through the Canada Healthy Communities initiative, with the support of the WindsorEssex Community Foundation.
Thank you to Unifor 444 for supporting the Summer Favourites series.
Thank you to the University of Windsor Alumni Association, Center for Cities, the City of Windsor and Councillor Renaldo Agostino.
“It was so great to be back showing films outdoors. To see community members of all ages enjoying some great films together? That’s Downtown Windsor,” said Vincent Georgie, Executive Director and Chief Programmer for WIFF. “We are very grateful to CHCI, WECF and the Government of Canada for supporting this arts and culture event for the community.”
