The Windsor International Film Festival is celebrated record attendance at this past fall’s event by hosting a free screening of the documentary The Russian Five.
The film chronicles how the Detroit Red Wings boosted their game by recruiting players from the Soviet Union during the 1980s. It follows the story of five players that immigrated to the U.S. and struggled to fit in, all the while teaching the rest of the team how to play hockey Soviet-style.
