The 2024 Canadian Screen Award Nominees 

WIFF films receive 74 nominations.

This morning the 12th Canadian Screen Award nominees were announced. Matt Johnson’s Blackberry is far ahead of the pack with 17 nominations, and WIFF Prize in Canadian Film Winner Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person close behind with 12. Overall, official selections of WIFF earned 74 nominations across all categories. Among the nominees is the short live-action film Invincible, which is currently screening at WIFF as part of the Oscar Short Films series and Ru which was shown earlier this year. A number of nominations went to previous WIFF Prize in Canadian Film Nominees including Solo, The Nature of Love, Something You Said Last Night, The Dishwasher, One Summer and North of Normal. Other WIFF films nominated this morning include Fitting In, Who’s Yer Father?, In Flames, Slash/Back, Suze, Someone Lives Here, Twice Colonized, Cynara, Swan Song and Zug Island.
