The numbers are in for this year’s Windsor International Film Festival — and they’re better than ever, according to event organizers.
The 15th edition of WIFF, which ran Nov. 1 to 10, sold a record total of more than 42,000 tickets, according to a news release from WIFF on Wednesday.
Vincent Georgie, WIFF’s executive director, hailed 2019 as “a banner year” for the festival. “We have so many to thank for this exceptional achievement — Our community, our volunteers, our sponsors, and, of course, our patrons,” he said.
This year was the first time WIFF had 10 days of programming, screening more than 165 titles at three downtown venues.
Other milestones at this year’s WIFF included introduction of a partnership with Netflix, the creation of WIFF Alley, and more special guests than ever.
