WIFF Local Shorts #1
WIFF is committed to promoting and fostering local films and filmmakers and welcomes local short and feature film submissions for programming consideration to the festival. This year’s films were selected by judges on the basis of quality and originality, and on their ability to contribute significantly to the overall success of WIFF 2022.
Late Bloomer directed by Nathan Bergs (20 mins)
After the simple intention of gifting a young woman with roses on Valentine's Day is ridiculed by a mysterious flower shop owner, Henry discovers the importance of selecting the right flower for the right person.
Date-saster directed by John Strahl (6 mins)
Hugh is freaking out about his date, and when he talks to his friends, he sees just how many ways a date can go wrong.
Rent-Do directed by Gavin Michael Booth (15 mins)
Rent Do follows Rich, Winnie and Pete, roommates and reluctant best friends. When each one is unceremoniously fired on the same day, they’re forced to start job hunting. But after Winnifred takes matters into her own hands, all three are forced into hiding. Paying rent becomes the least of their concerns.
