WHAT NOW?
Vincent, a single and charming singer-songwriter, is overjoyed when he learns that his band is finally going on tour. His dream is finally becoming a reality. However, just before the tour starts, he suffers from a persistent throat infection. A routine doctor's visit takes a turn for the worse and ends with a radical diagnosis: stage 4 tongue cancer. Only a few months to live. Vincent's world collapses instantly. How could this happen to him?
A roller coaster of emotions invades Vincent’s life in a way he never imagined. He is forced to accept and make peace with many things, but he is not ready to do so; losing his job, his father's mental health declining, not having the physical strength to complete his home renovation project, and most devastating of all, not being able to go on tour with the band. In fact, his diagnosis sheds light on his interpersonal relationships; those he thought were true friendships turn out to be superficial. He is sick, and he is alone.
The medical treatments are grueling and begin to affect his autonomy to the point where he has no choice but to accept the services of Renée, a verbose volunteer hospital driver for appointments, and Mike, a home nurse with a rigid approach. As treatments become increasingly tough on his body, Vincent increasingly relies on Renée and Mike, which dims his optimism.
His free spirit begins to give way to despair, despite the compassionate support of Renée and Mike. "And Now?" is a story about deep reflection on ourselves and our fears, about surrendering to life and the path it offers. Vincent is plunged into a storm of nightmarish circumstances that too many people unfortunately go through. Yet, through it all, life finds a way to bring him wisdom and grace in unexpected ways, allowing him to overcome obstacles and gain a new perspective on life and the importance of authentic connections.
