LAST FRENCH CANADIAN, THE
The question of Francophone identity in Canada is at the heart of the new captivating documentary, The Last French Canadian. The film, produced by David Baeta, Virginie Corneau and Simon Madore, from the production house Moi & Dave, follows the actor and host Pascal Justin Boyer on a journey across the country, meeting French speakers of all origins.
Boyer, a Quebecer by birth and a Franco-Ontarian by adoption, finds himself confronted with the crucial question of find out if he is the last representative of this constantly evolving identity. Traveling across the country, from the Yukon to Acadia via the Prairies and Quebec, Boyer and his traveling companions explore the realities linguistics that unite French-speaking Canadians.
They wonder if the common language is enough to ensure the future of their diverse communities.
