HEALTHY MINDS YOUTH EDUCATION

WIFF is proud to partner with the Solcz Family Foundation to provide children and youth in Windsor-Essex with transformative arts experiences. By becoming the lead supporter of WIFF’s new Healthy Minds Youth Education Series, the Foundation will help expand youth outreach efforts and create a deeper impact in the community—addressing the root causes of mental health challenges through the power of film.

“Continue to be curious about the world around you. Be confident in who you are. Believe that you can make a difference in the world and make the choice to do so.”—Michael G. Solcz

Research shows that engagement in arts and cultural experiences can significantly improve mental health outcomes, reduce stress, and foster social connection. WIFF’s Healthy Minds Youth Education Series is designed to do just that—leveraging the power of film to engage young minds, encourage meaningful conversation, and create a shared sense of belonging. This initiative will feature a specially curated slate of films addressing the root causes of mental health challenges— including family violence, substance abuse, food insecurity, poverty, and homelessness. Students will receive a healthy meal, a film screening, and a guided post-film discussion, ensuring a holistic and immersive learning experience.
